More sunny weather on the way right across Fiji today. A little cloud over the west this morning, but this cloud will clear away once the sun comes up. The satellite picture shows Fiji still free and clear of cloud, while another low moves across NZ bringing more foul winter weather to Aotearoa.

While there hasn't been any significant precipitation for a while, the temperature and humidity is slowly creeping up as the days get longer.

Temperature around Fiji is determined by the temperature of the ocean nearby, which is presently around 25 or 26 degrees. As days get longer the increased amount of sunshine warms the oceans, and so the air warms too since it is in contact with the ocean. The high temperature each day is usually about 5 degrees warmer then the sea, and the minimum overnight is about 5 degrees lower than the sea.

And as the air warms it's able to hold more water vapour, which means the relative humidity increases. So today will be a warm and sunny day, with moderate to fresh easterly winds. Fresh afternoon sea breezes will push lots of moisture from the ocean over the islands, which increases humidity.

There is the risk still of a few sprinkles about the southeast, but these will be inconsequential showers and wont affect your day to day activities. You're free to go about your chores without any fear of showers spoiling your day.

Over the west sunny weather continues, ith just a few clouds inland in the afternoon as the seabreeze fills in.

Feel free to cut and paste todays weather into your diary for tomorrow, because there's no change in the weather expected over the next few days.
